“Fat Girls Can Dance” is a philosophy of life that Hayley Solich developed when she was a young woman starting out in her performing arts career…
It is her story, the story of the fattest girl in the dance class, and how she found the courage to overcome limiting beliefs and pursue a career in dance regardless of her body shape and weight, and how she achieved success by aged 23 years, then had to reinvent herself many times over in the following 25 plus years to not only survive but thrive in life. It is the story of how you can live a passion-filled life and what it takes to achieve it!
It is a recording of the wisdom of a lifetime from a person who is a self-confessed ‘people watcher’, who as the Editor of a National magazine and two International ezines, has listened to many successful people’s stories and absorbed the wisdom from their collective journey through life.
It is also a down-to-earth and creative approach to personal development that uses the analogy of dance themes to share empowering life principles, the principles that have brought Hayley Solich to this place in her life.
“I was talking to my psyche recently (and may I suggest that everyone needs a psyche in their world from time to time!) and I shared about this book and about my personal body image journey. We were talking about how as a young person I always felt fat, probably based on the fact that I was a few sizes larger than my best friend who was a size ‘8’ and all the other girls in my dance class. I explained how when I was a dancer, I always felt fat, despite only being a size 12 and being in peak physical condition and he said something very interesting to me. He said that regardless of what my body was in reality, I was ‘fat’ mentally.
“As an older woman who is now storing a few extra kilos I look back at that young woman who was so concerned about body image and I think she was crazy to not appreciate what she had. She was fat, but not physically. Physically she was fit, in the prime of her life and shining with good health. She was fat with self-rejection and insecurity.
“This book is intended to be a liberating force for anyone who has an area of their life that they feel ‘fat’ in and to remove the blockages from people’s mindsets in relation to pursuing their passions in life. It is also a realistic look at what that means…to pursue one’s passion…and the investment associated.
“My desire is that every person who either reads the book, attends one of my presentations or workshops, or even works one-to-one with me, will discover the incredible value and potential that lies within them and be inspired to not neglect it, but exploit it so that no person goes to the grave with the regret of not having explored their personal potential fully.
“So I invite you to join me on this journey. Register your interest now.”
